Out of the Blue – 2nd Edition

In 2012, the original “Out of the Blue” album was released. Strangely enough, I hadn’t listened to those original recordings for many years. I did however continue to perform these compositions in the years following the release. When I finally did listen to the original recordings, I was simultaneously embarrassed and pleased.

I was embarrassed for two reasons: The quality of both the performance and the recording was poor. I was also pleased for two reasons: My skills in recording and performing these compositions, had greatly improved.

So making this 2nd edition became an important goal on the album’s 10th anniversary. It has been simply satisfying to see objective evidence of growth. It’s like looking at old photographs that bear witness to the unnoticed, incremental growth of trees and children. Growth and change, for better or worse, create the story of our lives.
